Tucker, just start writing ...

Last week there was no blog post. I had, in the week previous, written a blog post called Success Is What You Say It Is. Now, I don't have a huge readership yet but I usually get a comment or two and a small spike in my traffic. But when I checked my stats, that success post had two unique visitors. Disheartened me a liitle bit.

When it came time to write last week's post I remembered my two readers and thought "Eh, I'll do one later. Who's gonna notice if I don't have one?" I found reasons to NOT write a post. I wrote a post a few weeks back about Finding The Reason To Say Yes and still found the easy reasons to say no. I wrote If You Want To Do Something You Have To Do Something and still did nothing.

I'm a smart guy I should take my own advice.

This week I still couldn't think of anything to write about so I took some old writing course advice that goes something like "If you can't think what to write ... Don't think just write."

This week's post may not change your life and I may only have three people read it but it's done and I won't have that one-more-thing-I-should-do on my mind for the rest of the week. I have enough of those.

Is there a blank canvas next to your paint box? Do you hear a melody in your head? Do you have an idea for a story but can't come up with that first line? Just start painting, singing or writing. The worst that can happen is you figure out what you could do differently next time. I can guarentee you'll feel better for doing it.
