78 - Songs that let you question the world with Jonathan Ferguson

Hello and welcome to the 78th episode of The Spark & The Art creativity podcast. Thank you for subscribing to our weekly podcast, where we alternate between interviews with creative folks from all different career levels and insight and inspiration episodes. All with the intention you’ll get the inspiration you need to get your creative projects started and, more importantly, finished.

I’m your host Tucker and this week is an interview with singer songwriter Jonathan Ferguson. Jonathan is my second second interview and personally I feel I’ve gotten better at these interview episodes. I didn’t listen to the first episode with Jonathan but I feel confident this one is a little smoother. If you listen to them both you can let me know what you think.

This episode we talk about the process he followed for writing songs for his new album Telltale Heart, anonymity, how taking your art seriously doesn’t mean you have to take yourself seriously and the power of art to make you question and reflect on things. We also mention a lot of bands. A lot of bands. In fact, as usual, I put links in the show notes to all the bands we mention but I honestly can’t guarantee that I got them all. So to follow along and see how many bands I missed in the links visit TheSparkAndTheArt.com/78 and you can call me out on twitter for being to lazy to build proper notes.

I really enjoyed this chat and I’m sure you will too. Here is my talk with Jonathan Ferguson.

Short outro this week. It’s late and I put off making the episode so now I’m editing/writing/recording/publishing all in one night. Silly. But stick around after to hear Jonathon’s song Where Did The Water Go off his new album Telltale Heart available at longjonlev.com and other online retailers.
