This week’s interview is with Jackie Koehler. Jackie is an animator and she loves what she does. She loves doing it and she loves learning about it. Most recently she just finished as lead animator for the character of La Muerta in film The Book Of Life. While she’s worked on some pretty high profile movies, even being nominated for a very prestigious Annie award as part of the team for The Amazing Spider-Man she doesn’t consider herself having ‘made it’ simply because there is still more to learn and more to do.
In today’s conversation we talk about when she decided animation was what she wanted to do. We talk a bit about her creative process for animating a shot. We talk about the value of continuing to learn your craft and also how teaching what you know can help solidify your understanding of a skill you may just take for granted.
If anything in today’s talk resonated with you I’d love to hear what it was, tweet me @SH_Tucker. As always I take voicemail, questions, comments and animal impressions at my toll-free number 1-877-966-4886
