145 - An improvised life with Rebecca Northan

Hello and welcome to the The Spark & The Art creativity podcast. Thank you for subscribing to our weekly podcast, where we alternate between interviews with creative folks from all different career levels and insight and inspiration episodes. All with the intention you’ll get what you need to get your creative projects started and, more importantly, finished.

I’m your host Tucker and this week is an interview with Improviser, Actress, Producer and professional breath recording artist Rebecca Northan.

In today’s chat Rebecca reflects on a yearbook quote and how it relates to her life now and the interesting work that actors do that you may not know were even real jobs.

We talk about how she deals with the audition process by giving herself small goals. We also talk about how her improvised theatre show called Blind Date and how it’s lead to her growing clown empire.

So I’m sure you’ll enjoy today’s chat with Rebecca Northan

Did anything in today’s show make you think of anyone you know? Well I’d be very grateful if you’d share it with them. And hopefully your friend will be grateful as well. See how many people you’ll make happy just by sending a link? The easiest way to share is to use the short url TheSparkAndTheArt.com/145 and the hardest way is to turn the transcription of the show into a dynamic stage presentation with Tom Cruise playing myself and Julianne Moore as Rebecca and then invite your friend to opening night on Broadway. (I’m not sure why Rebecca wouldn’t just play herself in the show but maybe she didn’t make it past the audition because her Canadian accent wasn’t what they producers were going for)

Get me on Twitter @sparkartpodcast and thanks for listening and remember: you won’t get the art without the work and you won’t do the work without the spark.
